After the tour of the museum, we stopped for an early dinner at Cheddar’s before driving home.
The screens on the front porch were installed so the cottage is pretty much done to our satisfaction. We do have a new side door on order with the manufacturer to replace the warped door that we have. We suspect that we are losing air conditioning around the door since it doesn't close properly. We will probably be driving up to Athens, TX in a few days to pick it up and then will have it installed by the same person who built the roof extension. Hopefully this task will be completed before our trip to Southern Indiana.
We are definitely having summer-like weather with temps in the 90's but I understand that Indiana and Michigan weather is very similar.
I still spend time each day reading and recently finished Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum. This is a novel set during WW II and also in 1997 as told by a German mother and her daughter. The mother's story details the life she had to endure during the war while the daughter's story pulls from her memory as a three year old and her life in 1997 as a professor of history. It is a true page turning novel that is so well written that the reader can actually visualize the settings.
I did attempt to read Fifty Shades of Gray but did not particularly like it. Maybe it is better suited to younger women than me. :-) Otherwise, I tend to stick with mysteries by James Patterson, Sue Grafton, Lee Child, Vince Flynn, and other mystery writers whose books are free on Amazon Kindle.
